Accounts and Tax Manager – About The Role
- Act as the primary point of contact for a dedicated portfolio of SME clients fostering strong proactive relationships
- Manage the full client work cycle ensuring all deadlines are met effectively and efficiently
- Oversee the preparation and finalisation of Statutory Accounts for limited companies partnerships and sole traders
- Apply comprehensive technical knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105 throughout the accounts process
- Review and approve accounts files and working papers prepared by junior staff providing sign off before Partner review
- Manage the compliance requirements for the portfolio's private clients including the preparation and submission of Self-Assessment Tax Returns
- Supervise mentor and guide junior staff and trainees within the accounts department
- Contribute to the team's ongoing technical development and maintenance of high professional standards
The successful Accounts and Tax Manager will have:
- Qualified Accountant status essential ACA or ACCA preferred
- Extensive and demonstrable experience working within a UK Accountancy Practice environment
- Proven ability to manage a varied portfolio of SME clients independently
- Confidence in reviewing and managing the work of junior colleagues
- Up to date technical knowledge of UK GAAP including FRS 102 and FRS 105
- Excellent communication skills required for client facing work
