Assistant Project Manager – Role Overview
This role involves working alongside the Project Manager and project delivery team within a strategic transformation initiative aimed at enhancing budget efficiency and developing a sustainable operational and financial model.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in communication, coordination, and governance processes to ensure successful outcomes across all key teams involved in this significant project. The position will encompass both implementation and strategic development activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the planning, scheduling, and tracking of project activities
- Participating in stakeholder meetings to monitor progress and coordinate tasks
- Preparing reports and presentations for senior stakeholders
- Supporting engagement activities by organising workshops and meetings
- Collecting and analysing data (e.g., staff workload, financial performance) with appropriate confidentiality
- Interpreting findings to provide clear insights and recommendations
- Contributing to the mapping and redesign of business processes to improve efficiency
- Identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and resource optimisation
- Supporting communication of change initiatives to keep staff informed and engaged
- Aiding in securing stakeholder approval for delivery plans
- Contributing to the timely delivery of projects within budget and quality standards
The ideal Assistant Project Manager will possess:
- Sound understanding of project management principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Project
- Experience in managing project deliverables across multiple teams and disciplines
