Financial Accountant – About the Role
Supporting the management of business overhead control processes, including setting annual targets, reviewing performance quarterly, and liaising with budget holders
- Posting and maintaining accurate records of prepayments, accruals, payroll journals, and other financial transactions
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and conducting detailed financial analysis
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and managing depreciation processes
- Completing bank reconciliations and handling currency revaluations
- Monitoring cash flow and supporting associated reporting processes
- Assisting with foreign currency and derivatives management
- Supporting monthly reporting requirements and acting as a key contact for the shareholder
- Assisting with audits and the preparation of statutory accounts
- Reviewing the creditor’s ledger and completing quarterly VAT returns
- Supporting tax computations and National Statistics report
- Ensuring adherence to internal controls and parent company processes
- Updating process documentation and supporting continuous improvement
- Carrying out ad hoc finance duties as required
The successful Financial Accountant will have:
• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification (fully or part-qualified)
• Proven experience in a similar accounting role within a busy and fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs
• Strong team-working ability and confidence building relationships across the business
• Advanced Excel skills and strong IT proficiency
• Experience using SAP Business One (desirable)
• A proactive approach with the ability to self-manage and take accountability
