Urgent requirement for an experienced Practice Accountant to join an established accountancy firm on a temporary basis. This is an all-round practice role covering accounts and tax, with responsibility for preparing and reviewing work, dealing with clients and supporting the wider team.
The role will suit someone with solid UK accountancy practice experience who can quickly take ownership of a varied workload. CCH experience is essential, and the position is open to both qualified and QBE candidates. Hybrid working is available, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

Practice Accountant – About The Role
You will join the practice team in an all-round capacity, working across accounts and tax for a varied client base. The role will involve preparing and reviewing assignments, dealing directly with clients and providing support across a range of accounting and tax matters.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is already comfortable working within a UK practice environment and can manage their own workload with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities:
- Prepare statutory accounts for a range of clients
- Review accounts and associated working papers
- Prepare and review personal and corporation tax returns
- Deal with accounting and tax queries from clients
- Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
- Manage a varied portfolio of client work
- Ensure assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines
- Support the wider practice team where required
The successful Practice Accountants will have:
- Solid UK accountancy practice experience
- Qualified or QBE status
- Strong CCH experience is essential
- Broad knowledge across accounts and tax
- Experience preparing and reviewing accounts and tax work
- Confident dealing directly with clients
- Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
- Strong attention to detail
- Available to start at short notice
