Senior Accountant – About The Role
You will have ownership of your own client portfolio, working with businesses across a range of sectors and supporting them with their accounting and tax requirements. Alongside your own portfolio, you will have opportunities to support more junior colleagues and become increasingly involved in the wider team. Key responsibilities:
- Managing a varied portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
- Preparing corporation tax computations
- Supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members
- Building strong, long-term relationships with clients
- Assisting with pricing, proposals and new business opportunities
- Identifying improvements to processes and ways to enhance the client experience
- Keeping up to date with relevant accounting and tax developments
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider firm
- Taking part in ongoing training and professional development
The successful Senior Accountant will have:
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or nearing qualification
- Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Experience managing a varied portfolio of clients
- Strong accounts and corporation tax knowledge
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good Excel skills and confidence using new systems
- Experience with Xero, Sage, CaseWare or CCH would be advantageous
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership
- Strong team-working skills
- Genuine ambition to progress within a leading accountancy firm
